My most loved film of all time October 6, 2006 Tom Cat © (Earth) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
If theres ever been a film to include such beautiful artwork, enchanting script and music, then Beauty and the Beast fills that catergory. Its been the only film i've ever cried to, simply because of the breathtaking impact it has on you. Its not just the storyline thats compelling, its the way its put on film, and put across. And of course, it proves that loving someone for who they are is far more important than their appearance..
Not to be missed. This is, without a doubt, one of the finest productions of our time..
beauty and the beast March 8, 2010 K. J. Davies (wales) I am very happy with this video its as described, would definately deal with them again.
Another Disney classic... August 19, 2009 Bully (UK) My daughter enjoyed watching this film just as much as other Disney princess classics such as Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White.
Great fun to watch June 3, 2009 Gen (London) I'm pleased I could find this film on Amazon and my young son loves to watch it.
*I* want adventure in the great wide somewhere! December 3, 2008 J. M. Simpson (Edinburgh) This is easily the greatest disney film every.
1) the songs are awesome. "Gaston" had me chuckling away.
2) the animation, especially in the snow and the forests, is just amazing
3) you can read as much depth as you want into the story.
Unlike virtually every other fairy tale, especially disney stories, belle isn't a princess. She's not even all that poor. She's a middle class girl in a rural environment. And the thing that she likes most in the world? Reading. how awesome is that? she doesn't just fall in love with the main guy in town, she goes for the guy with the biggest library. Similarly, the one who really learns his lesson is the beast, for being mean to that old woman, who was in fact a witch. So the aristocrat was brought down for his lack of deference and re-educated in the ways of polite society by a woman from the lower orders. Ace.
4)It's got Jerry Orbach from Law and Order as Lumiere!
This is not one of those films that you thought was great but watch again and it stinks. The pace is good, the songs keep the whole thing moving. I was uncertain about ordering this but I did and it made my day!
