Very Educational October 30, 2009 S. Lindop (Manchester) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
My 7 year old liked this so much, we bought him a futher 2 sets to join his coasters together. We have had hours and hours of fun with this. Once you get the hang of it, you can build your own coasters in no time. It's very educational and teaches patience and physics - learning how the ball needs speed at certain times and needs to slow down at others. If you don't get this right, then the ball will either stop or come off the track. But this isn't a fault of the game, it's a fault with your design and that's what makes it so interesting, learning to get it just right.
We have built some amazing tracks in the year we have had the game and the satisfaction my son gets from the end result is priceless. Only problem is that we never want to take it down afterwards - I could sit for hours watching the balls going round, it is very relaxing.
This game has halved in price since last year (it used to be £80) and is well worth the money. It is also very well made, having been assembled and dis-assembled more times than I can remember and still in perfect condition.
There are so many poor quality kids toys around these days and this is NOT one of them. Probably the best game my son has ever had.
Brilliant fun January 19, 2009 the daisyhill7 (UK) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
My 7 year old son got this for Christmas and it is still being played with every day. A sign of a good toy in my books.
It took a little time to construct the first 2 or 3 set-ups, but we soon got the hang of it and he now makes up his own designs (with a little bit of help).
Admittedly the instruction book with it's amendments is a little confusing, but trial and error gets there in the end.
An excellent present and educational too. A winner for me.
Very entertaining! December 27, 2009 P. Haynes (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a very entertaining toy. I had a great time at Christmas with the kids putting up various layouts as shown in the instruction book (oh and they seemed to enjoy it too). It's probably too difficult for most children under 7 to assemble on their own but it shouldn't be too much of a challenge for anyone over that age, especially if they've put one layout up already.
The reviewer who said the lifting tower failed may have fixed the problem by taking the batteries out and re-inserting them. Ours stopped lifting after about 4 hours. Everything else seemed fine. Took battery cover off and put it back on again and it started lifting again! The instructions do say to remove the batteries and reinsert them if the unit fails but I originally thought this would probably be just for the music (but it worked for the lifting tower anyway).
A very good toy for any children over 4 (maybe over 3 if your child has passed the destructive stage by then!). Definitely worth 5 stars.
Great fun December 26, 2009 J. Ogden (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Bought this for my 4 year old for christmas who loves building things. It is too difficult for him to build but he helps. It says 6+ on the box but I think 6 year olds would still need alot of help to clip the parts together. After building an initial model it does get easier but some of the parts look very similar so you have to be careful when selecting which bit goes where.
This was great value as I got it at a fantasitc price from Amazon but now I know how good it is I would have paid more. It really is good fun with lights and sound. Will look for similar products.
Lovvit March 13, 2010 Alfred Biehler (UK) Solid quality, fantastic diversity of physics applied here, and easy to enjoy. The fun is in the building it (and seeing it work).
